28 participants from Building Bridges Program, a business-education partnership visited TRC facility in Old Town
The Building Bridges Program is a business-education partnership sponsored by the Bangor Region Chamber of Commerce. Hundreds of educators including teachers, school superintendents, guidance counselors, school board members, parents and students have acclaimed Building Bridges as one of the most effective educational activities they have experienced. Participating businesses find it a valuable means to develop the future workforce.
From January to May each year, Maine businesses host on-site tours for approximately twenty educators. During lively discussions, business representatives and educators explore the specifics of the rapidly changing workplace and the implications for preparation of students who already are or soon will be entering it. A quest for mutual understanding and a curiosity about each other’s mission infuse these discussions and elicit valuable suggestions and ideas.
The group to TRC was led by Carin Sychterz, Program Coordinator of Bangor region Chamber of Commerce.
