“Waste not, want not” is one piece of motherly advice that may help us out of the current energy crisis. Associate Professor Peter van Walsum is conducting research at the University of Maine to use wood and algae byproducts leftover from processing plants as a source of biofuel. This research takes place in the light of our depleting oil reserves.
