My Research
I am researching the economic evaluation of transition pathways to a forest bioproducts industry by evaluating the feasibility of commercial production of cellulosic ethanol and biodiesel along with other cellulose based bioproducts. The transition pathway also depends on the scale and cost of retail infrastructure.
In Other Words
I am evaluating the economics of ethanol from wood and wood waste from Maine’s forests. The economic profitability depends both on the costs of making ethanol as well as the costs of making the ethanol available at retail gasoline stations.
