The key is to focus on the big picture and find synergy in what goes on in individual research laboratories at different levels of readiness and incorporating it in a process flow diagram that makes economic sense. A systematic technology development approach through validation at different scales with focus on risk mitigation by removing key barriers with high impact potential helps us make rapid commercialization possible.

Technology center facilities for various unit operations help us demonstrate biomass conversion at industrially relevant scale and collect design data and perform credible technoeconomic feasibility analysis.

I lead the FBRI research team focused on creating and commercializing new bioproducts. My work relates to design of industrial process systems. We work on rapid technology transfer out of research laboratories through pilot scale validation aimed at private sector acceptance for commercial deployment.
